THE INVITATION LETTER IS NOT YOUR RUSSIAN VISA
REGISTRATION
When you arrive in the Russian Federation, you should register your Russian visa.
All foreign nationals' passports, regardless of visa status, are required to be registered under Russian legislation.
Upon arriving in Russia, you must register your Russian visa within 72 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). Your visa must be recorded on the first working day after you arrive if you come on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday.
You must attend the Center of International Education and Cooperation (CIEC) of Kazan State Medical University with your passport, Russian visa, and migration card within the first three days of your arrival (better do it on the first day) (was received in an aeroplane).
Following that, the KSMU Admissions Office will help people who entered the country on a student visa acquired through an invitation from Kazan State University with passport registration at the Department of Internal Affairs.
If you are staying in a hotel, your visa will be registered by the hotel. It is possible to charge a modest registration fee. Your visa must be recorded by your landlord if you are staying in a private residence. Please have the landlord file an application with the local police station (in Moscow) or the FMS office (generally known as OVIR) in other places. He'll have to fill out a notification form with information on your passport and migration card.
A landlord might also send the notice form to the local police precinct/FMS office through registered mail.
Please be aware that failing to register your Russian visa might result in significant consequences such as police custody, departure penalties, and denial of boarding. We highly encourage you to come to KSMU's CIEC on your first day in Russia to register your Russian visa in order to prevent any potential penalties.
MIGRATION CARD
All foreigner Students must fill out special migration cards, which they will get while crossing the Russian border, according to Russian visa requirements.
Personal information, length of stay in Russia, the purpose of visit, and anticipated residency are all included on the migration card. In order to complete migration procedures, all visitors must produce this card for the institution. Foreign guests must fill out the name and address of the firm that is hosting them.
It is illegal to stay in Russia for more than three days without first registering your visa at your residential address. As a result, while arriving in Russia, travellers must have the complete name and address of the firm that received their visa support letter (invitation). The visa support paperwork provides this information. It is recommended that visitors write it down for future reference.
